PUMP HOUSE

This salt water pump house was to provide fire protection for the Lago Colony.  You could go out on the walkway to the pump house and the fishing from this walkway was good.

The sewer pipe can be seen in the lower right hand corner of the photograph.  This cast iron pipe, supported on concrete piers was one of the "walkways" through the Colony.  Every child in the Colony learned to "walk the pipe" as it carried you over the cactus and coral and was not as hot as the road, no one wore shoes in the summer time.
