LOOKING FOR LAGOITES

PERSONS WHO LIVED IN LAGO COLONY

THIS IS INTENDED TO HELP FIND "MISSING" LAGOITES, OR INFORMATION ABOUT PEOPLE WHO LIVED IN LAGO COLONY.

January 9, 2006. Danny,    I wonder if you knew my grandparents;  Stanley and Helen Hartwick.  I spent 2 summers in Aruba (57 and 58). I'm going back for the first time in nearly 50 years.  I can't remember the bungalow number, was near the bowling alley where Grandpa went after work to shoot dice and throw back a few Heinekens.  He built a 4' castle in the back yard...used cement and sea shells.  What a kick it would be if I could find that still intact.  I know, chances are slim to none.  Please let me know...They left the island in 1960 after over 20 years.   Jim Hartwick  If you know something about the Harwicks, Jim can be reached at: Fireballnv@aol.com.

Both my father Arthur E. Case, and my uncle Marvin (Claude) Case worked at Lago as it was being built.  My father did not stay for too long, but my uncle lived there until the mid 40's.  He married a hairdresser there in Lago named Freida.  I am not sure which bungalow they lived in but he worked himself up in the company and had a good job.  I don't know if Freida had a beauty shop or worked in the barber shop.  Several years ago, my sister and I sent the Aruba Archives many albums, postcards, and Lago memorabilia and they named it the Carol Burns-Jean Suter collection.  I have never seen it exhibited.  We had gone to an exabition on Lago at the Archives in Orangestad years before and that is why we donated the items to them.  I have been going to Aruba every year since '75 having heard about it from my father since I was a child.  I just wondered if anyone remembered my uncle and aunt and knew anything about them.  Also my Uncle Claude was in a band at Lago called the Pan Am  (something or other...can't remember).  Would appreciate your input.  I love your site...just discovered it.    Thanks Jean Suter
PS...I would like a password so I can access it all.  Thanks.
